If you run paid acquisition on more than one network, there’s a good chance most of your click-fraud attention, and most of the third-party tooling you’ve evaluated, is aimed at Google and Meta. That’s understandable; they’re usually the biggest spend line items. But invalid clicks aren’t a Google-and-Meta-only problem.

Why the smaller networks get overlooked

TikTok and Microsoft/Bing campaigns tend to get less scrutiny for a few practical reasons:

  • Lower absolute spend means a worse ROAS is easier to write off as “the algorithm still learning”
  • Fewer built-in fraud-reporting tools compared to Google’s Click Fraud filtering or Meta’s own review process
  • Attribution is often set up as an afterthought once the bigger networks are covered

That gap doesn’t mean the traffic is cleaner. It usually just means nobody’s checked.

Treating every network the same way

The right fix isn’t a different tool per network. It’s attributing every ad click, regardless of source, to the storefront session it produces, and scoring that session the same way. A click from a TikTok campaign that lands on a session with no scroll, no hover, and a sub-second bounce is exactly as suspicious as the equivalent Google click, and should be treated that way.

Skyfense’s ad spend protection covers Google, Meta, Microsoft/Bing, and TikTok in one dashboard for exactly this reason, so invalid clicks don’t get to hide in whichever network you’re paying least attention to.
